Be quiet my child
Shush, keep a hush
If you aren’t silent
They will find us
Remain still
Please do not move
For they are looking
And their ears are opened wide
Breathe lightly
The loudest breath—
It will alert them
They will find us.
Close your eyes
Do not fear
If you follow my directions
They will not know we are here
Keep the door shut
Don’t touch a thing
Just stay next to me
And follow my rules
I hear a footstep outside
It is growing near
I beg they do not
Find where we hide
