I watched the sun go down,
down past the hills,
down past the waters edge.
I sat there in wonder,
sat at the waters edge
watching the sun disappear.
My mind was running,
running through my life,
questions popping up,
some that brought tears,
some that brought a smile to my face.
This night brought on a meaning,
a deeper meaning then nights past.
I remembered why,
I remembered reasons,
as the sun sank faster,
my tears reached the end,
dipped right from my chin,
into the darkening waters below.
I sat there looking at that spot,
with a smile of peace,
if not just for that moment,
I believed what I seek will find me.
I walked away from the waters edge this night,
knowing I would be alright.
