Hit the Lights

Poem By: elegantbleeding
Poetry

Teen angst? Or true feeling? I'll let you decide on this poem... (Though it could almost be a song.) Rated R for language use, since there is no PG-13 rating. Enjoy! View table of contents...

Please hit the lights,
Just turn them off
'Cause I can't see the bright side anymore.
Another cheap fuck
And I'm out of luck-
It all ran out the door.

Love left me,
And it'll leave me again.
This is more than I can stand.
So take me,
Break me,
Make me someone else
So I can't hurt myself.

And hit the lights,
Just turn them off
'Cause I don't see the bright side anymore.
Another cheap fuck
And I'm out of luck-
It's dead on the floor.

Switch the circuit,
It isn't worth it
And nothing's working right today.
So walk around
Go ahead and frown-
It won't make a difference either way.

I see you,
As I will see you again.
That alone is more than I can stand.
So sit down,
Shut up,
I can't listen.
You walk around Goddamning everything.

And hit the lights,
Suck the power dry.
Nothing's left to make me stay.
Your last cheap fuck,
Our time is done.
Nothing will be okay.
