Believe it or not, this is really about being sick.

So lonely, so weary,
And wanting a break.
An overdose of medication
Made my knees quake.
All of these questions,
But I'm too afraid to speak
Because my voice vanished,
And I feel so weak.
Another crackled cough,
Another busted lung,
Another paper-cut,
And a sad song sung.
Hope this doesn't continue,
Didn't want it to begin.
It's gotten thin…
It's gotten thin…

I'm moving my lips,
But no sound comes from
My cracked, blistered lips,
My dry, parched tongue.
I'm listening to music,
But I can't sing along-
And they just finished playing
My favorite song.
I'm acting out scenes
Inside of my head,
But by the looks of my body,
I might be dead.
My skin is flaky
And my face has gone pale.
I've gotten stale!
I've gotten stale!

And then the archangels cried,
Oh well…
Oh well…
