I just talk

words with no meaning

letters stringed together

and now they're comming apart

what do you hear?

what do you listen to?

A heart without a meladoy

I'm not singing for them

I speak alone in a white room

Stained with all my hideous lies

My heart isn't the king

All my beauty dies

I'm a servent to my mind

I think it through and may not fallow through

but my battered heart plays no part

I keep my mouth closed with a smile

Sweet words taste like bitter bile

I don't want to lie

but white lies can't stain my walls

The truth isn't as nice

So I stay hushed

What do you hear?

What do you listen to?

I say alot without meaning a thing

You can't make me sing--for them

Inside there are no mirrors to reflect what I already know

not another face I can not bear to stand

Now I'm surrounded and fed up

Thank me as I retreat

If I could paint this room, I wouldn't

Cuz they'd rush to steal my color

I refuse to let them in

Count up my sins

I smile so they can't care

Like I'd actually play fair

Give me a reason and I'll lie

in a world full of lairs

What do you hear?

What do you listen to?

The slience after says alot
