I've seen these bridges a thousand times
the horizon never changes
It only brightens with truth
and fades with lies

Behold, noble landscape, I am
forever yours to forget, I'll always belong
amongst the scattered sticks and stones
propelled to you, yet always falling short

I have a thousand years
to build these bridges to nowhere
with ladders that stretch forever
I'll sculpt masterpieces in the sand
let creation be my legacy
till my fires burn away

perhaps one day, my love
I'll stumble into view
and feast your eyes upon me again

I beg you, I implore
never burn your bridges to nowhere
I would rather be nowhere
with you than somewhere
