We are one

Now we are two

My first steps

I took for you

Together in everything

Until the fall

Cut and bruised

What to do?

You tried yourself

But could not bear

Cut some more

You fed a snare

Two days by your side

Holding your hand

A cup of water

Received as grand

Lying and shaking

I arrived at your side

Looking up at me

Eyes wide of mine

I rolled you on your side

Your mind set aside

The rhythm of the beat

Was lost at sea

A passenger gone

Memories pass on

Await to see

The joys of me

Your smile vibrant

Your disease tyrant

You brought me to life

I laid you to rest

I speak not of a relationship

Romance and all

The workings of two strangers

Love in the fall

No, not of a girl

Nor woman of mine

Could ever see

The pain inside

Futile to paint

Colors aflood

You gave me life

Yours ended in blood

Dust for now

I pray to God

I'll see you soon

Not soon enough

Resignation opportune

Grievous to bear

The question remain

Are the years to come

All in vain?

A ghost you've become

My beating heart

Once full of blood

Now torn apart

Breathing a chore

My life is no more

I await my release

My prison of bones

My lifeline cerise

You brought me here

For you I came

Into this world

A life lost aim

Now here I stand

You have gone

A ship unmannned

I am weary, I am done

We were two

But soon to be one
