What a frolicking joy!
To be a cat
With a furry tail
And a furry hat
Between napping and play
I do like that
More than any rat
What a luxurious item!
Is sun-warmed glass
From my window seat
Seasons thrive and pass
Under my watch
Is each blade of grass
But I'd rather nap, alas!
What a lovely nectar!
Is milk that's gold
An alchemist's work
It's been foretold
A kitten's ambrosia
Though better warm than cold
I will be consoled
What a beautiful task!
To repose the day
While the children frisk
And the puppies play
By the quaint glow of moon
I will pounce away
My yarn-ball and I chassé
