How I wish a swift Athena
Would spring forth from my head
Something less than prosaic
But more than poetry
A marvelous thought!
To catch with ink--
But it's unsubstantially so
Fingers trail the air
Close in on nothing
I grasp for what I thought I had but really didn't
A thought so perfect that I--
But for now I have
A poem unfinished

Great ending. I like the buildup and the sudden... letdown. :D

I liked the suspenceful buildup and then you dropped it...but you did the moment of the poem justice! Well done!

Well done. I think we can all relate to this on one level or another. Me: I can relate to it on both... No, more... more... more...
