From a darkened void,
Eyes open on bright white light.
A child has been born.

 


Shi

As the light fades out,
Family gathers around.
Your final goodbye.

I like it a lot! Very simple, but then again most haiku's are. I like how you put two of them in there, opposites. Nice choice of words, too. Good job!
