Why Do I Hate Him? (Ceidon's Booksie Challenge)

Poetry By: flavoredair

I thought I'd take a whack at one of these challenges that float around... and well... I don't think I work well with parameters. I like to usually inject layers upon layers of meaning and allegories which can be appreciated in nearly all levels of comprehension. There is only a surface value to this piece. (Which is only my fault, perhaps I'll revisit this poem later.) I had to use the words: clay, rope and desk and my theme was love is blind. (I decided to twist the theme a little to fit in my usually jilted scheme, obsessive blind love is one sided.)

He loves me

He loves me

He loves me

He'll stay

Though the lies that I swore by

Were thicker than clay

And he promised to love me

Through all my mistakes

He loves me

He loves me

He thinks that I jest

Though my words carve his heart

Like an old writing desk

And promises me BABY

That I am the best

If I am the best

Than why do you hurt?

Why do you stay when I treat you like dirt?

Why can't I stop?

It comes as a blurt

I love you

I love you

And love only you

I love you

I love you

I wish this was true

You were the one who brandished the hope

I was the one who brandished the rope

I was the one who fashioned the noose

You were the one to cut me loose

He loves me

He loves me

He sees through me flaws

Why can't I see?

What is the cause?

He took my hand

And said you're mine

You don't have to see

'Cause love is blind!
