Can’t I just remember in peace?
Without falling to pieces?
Sighing, I gaze out the window
A million miles away and with you now.
You see me and who I am.
I see you and who we were,
So long ago,
A blur.
Seeing you walk right by
I don’t even exist.
But I remember a time
When I was as much yours, as you were mine.
Seeing her with you, close my eyes and it’s me.
A dreamy haze, gazing into your hazel eyes
Before you lean in and claim my lips for yours,
Open my eyes and the tears and pain pours.
Wait! I wasn’t done!
We’re forever unfinished business baby
I wish you hadn’t run
Because you still drive me crazy.
Can’t I just remember in peace?
Without falling to pieces?
Sighing I gaze out the window,
A million miles away,
A million minutes ago,
A happy day
Before you decided to go.
