The room moves around me,
Swaying on the rocky sea,
It just isn’t helping -
As I really need to pee.
So I tiptoe upstairs,
Leave mum and pa sleeping,
Brother too is unaware,
Of the water seeping.
Animals are on deck,
They are screaming and crying,
They know the ghastly truth,
But I’m not one for prying.
I turn and race down stairs,
Then come to a deathly halt.
The water is coming.
I know it’s not my fault…
…yet my exposed tears mix
With the brutally cruel sea,
And the pain that I feel,
Engulfs me entirely…
..as I race back on deck,
I know they’re destined to die,
The boat sinking quickly,
I say my final goodbye.
A rescue boat ahead,
Is within my feeble grasp.
Quickly, I climb aboard,
My breath is then at a gasp…
…I’m not fully alone!
There are more survivors here,
But this is not good news -
They’re survivors to be feared!
A large Bengal Tiger!
An aggressive hyena!
A pregnant gorilla!
A broken, wounded zebra!
I’m the only human,
On this stupid floating zoo.
My demise, it would seem,
Is now greatly overdue.
The hyena was mean,
Horrifying and selfish,
For him to disappear –
That was my fervent wish.
He slaughtered the zebra,
Right before my troubled eyes,
Ripping its fragile flesh,
And I began to despise…
… his treacherous habits,
And his passion to deceive.
I watched him lick his lips.
And then I couldn’t believe…
…when soon he turned around,
And faced the poor gorilla -
Then he slaughtered her too.
He was his own Godzilla.
And when he turned on me,
I just couldn’t say a word,
Just waited for the pain -
Lord! I know it is absurd…
…but, here is the silent tiger!
He has emerged from below.
The hyena is now doomed,
And I cried out in sheer woe…
As they began to struggle.
The hyena’s in pieces -
And the tiger starts to eat.
He never even ceases…
…to look me up and down,
And wonder if I’m trouble,
He just keeps on eating,
In his own carnivorous bubble.
And that, my loyal friends,
Is the story I have shared,
Of my awful boat trip,
And how absolutely scared…
…a little child can be,
When their family is taken,
And the child is then left,
Entirely forsaken.
