Woman

They treat you like nothing

crush your heart

destroy your hope

steal your dreams

Woman

do they know

do they see

how much you can take

how much you can be

Woman

can they hear your cries

when they dissapear

when your child dies

when you are defiled against your will

Woman

do they know your strength

your courage above your tears

do they know your endless love

the way you give

and want nothing in return

Woman

will they ever see

that you are stronger

than pain

and heartache

Woman

let them see

be all you can be

rise from the darkness

Be who you are

A Woman

This is a very strong and heartfelt poem. It touches deeply on that inner strength we women find inside of us when we need to bring it to the fore.
Thankyou for sharing this very well written piece.
Wonderful work!!

Sunnyson, thank you for your wonderful compliment. I just hope all women understand how strong they are.

thank you for reading!

I am no woman but I need not be a woman to see the skill and passion put into this poem. I could only dream of writting something as heart felt as this, you are by far the best writter I have ever encountered and I am honnored to have met you.

Awwww...thank you Qcontinu! You unknowingly motivate me to write more and more.

I can definately appreciate this poem. I spend maybe a few hours every few weeks around my two year old nephew, and by the time I'm in my car driving home, I'm ready to slam my head repeatedly against the steering wheel. Yet, my sister is with this tiny terror every minute of every day and not only survives him, but takes amazing care of the lil' tyke. There's a reason we call our home mother earth, mother nature. We men got a bit of a bum wrap with old man winter, but hey, snow angels are fun!

Another great piece by a very talented young poet and writer.

Hehe. He sounds like a handfull! Thank you for reading and your lovely comment.

I love it!
I have never come across such a heartfelt poem in my short years of life...
People dont always realize how strong women can bem, I think it is sad when even women themselves think that they are weak and inferior to men. I would never think that in all the world, cuz I know it's not true, I know a quite a few women who are the strongest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! Some men think it is fun to have women think that they are inferior, and I pity those men. For they probably will never realize that women are stronger then think and this poem proves it! THey might soon find out the hard way when the women take it upon themselves to correct his way of thinking!
Great Poem, I really enjoyed it!
