I hold my best friend, Mr Bear

Trying to hide from the monsters

Everynight I dream about you

But why aren't you here?

Was I not pretty enough

or didn't you like my  hair?

Aren't Daddy's supposed to stay with us

to chase away our fears?

I'm all grown up now

I made it without you

There aren't any monsters

 Mr Bear isn't needed anymore

I put on a brave face

so nobody can see

there's still a small part in me

that's wishing you were here

Beautifully done, obviously this came straight from the heart.
When I was five my dad won me a large stuffed Bugs Bunny. two decades have gone by and I still have Bugs. Every now and then I give the old Waskly Wabbit a hug.

yeah it did. I'm glad you liked it. I haven't got anymore toys left over from my childhood but i know they would have helped sometimes. Thanks for reading and commenting!

That poem was very profound, I love it. It shows you truly do have skill if you can write funny poems, fantasy novel and now this exceptional poem. Keep up this spectacular work.

I just write what I feel at that moment. Thank you so much for reading!!

This is a sad story. I was fortunate enough to have my father come back at all. There was a moment where he would never come back, and i wasnt even born yet, but luckily he did, and i still have a father. Although he is traumatized, and there are moments where he doesnt seem like a father, i know he is fighting his demons, and that in the end, it all comes down to him still being here.

Wow that was something, even though you stood tall you still wish he where there to help you confront your fears...
