This poem is dedicated to all those who inspire me,
My family, my friends,
to those who are different, and Ellen, of course.
Hatred.
Spread around the world,
to people who do not deserve it.
Those people,
they're a little different.
Aren't we all?
What does it matter
if those people are gay, straight, or bi?
Doesn't everybody deserve to find their one true love?
What does it matter
if those people have different colored skin?
Isn't it just fascinating to learn about other people's cultures?
What does it matter
if those people look different because they were born different?
Is it their fault that they were born with a high risk of death?
They are the ones who fight hard just for their own life.
Yet, they care more for others then they do for themselves, it seems like.
There aren't any rules to being different,
to love,
or to life.
Those haters,
they're bullies.
They don't care.
It's not fair.
Those people, never get the chance
to stand up for themselves.
They're terrified,
that the bullies will harm them, for being different,
causing them to commit suicide.
Death is not the answer.
I watch Ellen Degeneres on her show, each day.
She makes us stronger, makes us believe in ourselves.
And yet, Ellen is one of those different people.
She has faced these challenges.
But why should she have to?
She has done nothing, but be nice to people,
help out people in need.
She is my idol, everyone's idol.
To all people who are different out there,
stay strong, just like Ellen.
Because with more people like her,
the world could be such a better place.
Don't give in to discrimination or racism,
because it's not true and it never will be.
Just believe in yourself.
And to those who suffer
from some deadly disease or disorder,
you all make my day and I believe in you.
I find it hard for myself to have such a bad day,
when all of you have much worse to put up with than I.
Every person in the world is special.
And every person should have the freedom,
to live life their own way.
One day, I hope the hatred stops.
One day, I hope marriage has equal rigths,
whether between a man and woman,
or between that of the same sex.
One day, I hope people of all colors,
will be seen for what is on the inside,
the part that looks the same to all
and the one that really matters.
One day, I hope there is a cure:
for cancer, for autismn, for scitzophrenia,
for aspergers, for down syndrome, for everything.
So people no longer have to suffer.
One day, I hope that all the bullies out there,
are reading this, willing to make a change.
Sure, bullies have been through hardships,
but why take it down on others?
One day, I hope to be like Ellen degeneres:
funny, generous, giving, fun, fair,
and a good dancer.
