A gentle breeze,
gliding through the late
October air along the
rough branches of the
tall trees,
making its way to the
burst of reddened
foliage at the end like
signals coursing through
the body.
All life ends at some
point, including that of
something so beautiful.
It takes no time at all
for the unfortunate bit
of bad news to reach its
destination.
The leaves are plucked
from their perch and
they drop ever so
delicately to the ground
where they lay to rest,
momentarily.
