i can never go back now
that's where i lose myself in thought
that's the place that swallows me whole
that's when my flicker is snuffed out
i've never really been there
spent my time drifting far away
spent tears just longing for a glance
spent those nights talking to the stars
i've always wanted someone
to touch all the little details
to get my heart beat racing
to waste evenings out at sea
i was gone so long ago
