She Was a Mermaid Too...

Poetry By: gacademy
Poetry

This poem is about how everyone looks at mermaids as fictional characters, and it shows the mermaid in real life.

Forbidden love
Is that of a mermaid
Who falls in love with a man

But if you think about it
Haven't we all
Had a love that, to us, was banned?

Like how Cinderella
A servant in rags
Was forbidden to go to the ball

But just like Ariel
Her and her prince
Live happily after all

She was a mermaid too...

Mermaids
Aren't only in fairy tales
You've seen them in high school, too

The little Nerd from the science lab
Fell for the football jock
I can honestly tell you

She was a mermaid too...
