Dirty Dishes

Poetry By: gerabel

Dirty Dishes was written in a unique style deliberately so that the reader might garner their own personal thoughts and feelings. Perhaps a smile... perhaps despair.

dirty dishes
by Gerard Lebel
home alone
lover departed
windows shut
shades closed
drapes drawn
doors bolted
lights off
darkness falling
shadows reign
thoughts confused
loneliness pervades
barbiturates beckon
teardrops fall
telephone rings
teakettle whistles
kitchen calls
doorbell chimes
mysterious visitor…
all this distress
and a sink full of
dirty dishes.
