Sunshine Up Ahead: By Tim Collins

It’s so damn dark in this subway line
Will I ever see the light of day
At times like this I wish I had a car
But I think I’m doing ok

When the doors open up I’ll be running for the stairs
Heading up to the light for a little fresh air

Oh I know there’s sunshine up ahead

I’m so darn tired of this graveyard shift
Will I ever see the morning sun
There busting my balls and breaking my back
Though I still have a little fun

Outside the sky is a starting to glow
And I’m just waiting for the Whistle to blow

Ya I know there’s sunshine up ahead

It’s always night time in this old coal mine
Will I ever see the sky above
I’m picking away and choking on dust
And I’m thinking about my love

As my day’s about to end I’m starting to laugh
Riding that train to the top of this shaft

Cause I know there’s sunshine up ahead

Well we’ve all fallen on deep dark times
With a lot of people getting afraid
Everything seems to be getting so hard
When we used to just have it so made

Well I might be a fool but I’m still going to climb
Rather than just crying and a wasting my time

Yes I know there’s sunshine up ahead
