A Captive of Fear
Spinning worlds within my soul
Roads that lead nowhere
Chains of silver walls of brass
Hold the captive bound
Music spirals through the mind
Captivating thoughts
Inner conflicts claw and tear
Prisoner of the soul
Passions surge explode within
Pressing to the fore
Confusion clouds my sanity
Lost in misty paths
Travellers roam the timeless route
Blind to truth and light
Walking in a dead man's step
Captive of the mind
Chilling winds that cut the bones
Whispering moans of doom
Cackling voices haunt my mind
Ever by my side
Darkness covers all the land
Mist doth clothe in dew
Storms do rage in worlds apart
Evil hath its day
Forests dark to blot the light
Caverns deep below
Creatures of the darkness thrive
Fear doth rule them all
Doubts do leap out from all sides
Fears do hold me back
Life's a road we all do pass
We all must walk its length
Choices lay before our eyes
As we stride along
Listen to my words my lad
Heed them carefully
Truth will keep thy steps in line
Hope will lead you home
Whispers yes they come to you
The evil and the good
Some to tempt and some to aid
As through life's valley walk
Roads do branch out from the path
Crossroads many be
Yet straight the path that you should take
Yes narrow is the way
Obstacles are strewn there
Many bar the way
Fight them off faith will help
Then move along life's way
Life consist of choices made
Mistakes we all do make
Yet rising up to meet the day
We conquer as we move
Use the lesson good and bad
Stepping stones in life
Do not stumble - rise above
Ever onward stride
