ALPINE DEATHS
Cold the snow that fell on me
Icy winds did chill
Biting deep within my soul
Causing untold pain
Memories flitter in my thoughts
Dreams of what had been
Hope now lost I turn to ice
Yet live within my mind
Expedition heroes we
Climbers one and all
Filled with driving passion all
We sought to climb this mount
Now in Alpine snows I lie
All have died but me
Warmth I crave yet never find
Freezing in death’s bite
One by one we all have gone
Our mortal flesh did fail
Lost to winters shroud I am
An avalanche hath claimed
Nameless climbers, dreamers too
Forever lost in time
Numb from cold I fade away
Slowly thus I die
One of many through times age
Many more to come
