Blues The Music
I wandered down that old side street
Neon light to light my way
Blues the music playing there
Blues the colour of my heart
Old slouched hat and worn out shoes
Old man plays the blues
Blues the music playing here
Backstreet club cigarette smoke
Sonny blows that magic harp
Bobby sings dem blues
Blues the music playing here
Sitting on that wooden stool
Blues the colour of my soul
Late nightclub flickering light
Blues the music playing here
Whisky glass and billiard cue
Bessie sings those songs I love
Bottleneck and that ole harp
Blues the music playing here
Basement room spiral stairs
Sonny Boy wails them railroad blues
Little Walter hits dem notes
Blues the music playing here
Aint never going leave
Robert Johnson 'Crossroad' blues
Hellhound on my trail
Blues the music playing here
Sign the dotted line
Tequila shots in darkened room
Tears flow - life's rough spot
Blues the music playing here
Johnny Winter makes dem weep
I ain't no colour just a white
Yet blues runs through ma veins
Blues the music playing here
That slide it really talks
Fight breaks out tables smashed
Albert King just plays along
Blues the music playing here
My Southern Comfort's gone
Blues the music that I love
Mayhall's Bluesbreakers play tonight
Blues the music playing here
B B King and Peter Green
Time moves on weeks spin by
Otis Rush he fingerpicks
Blues the music playing here
Ole Jack Daniels always near
Old bedsit wooden cot
Lonely night I cry to sleep
Blues the music playing here
Tears the lubricant
Janis cries a little longer
Hearts in pieces every night
Blues the music playing here
Billie Holliday gives her all
Ball and Chain is not the option
Pearl, cries out her heart
Blues the music playing here
John Lee Hooker - Bessie Smith
Captain's harp and Ry's ole guitar
'Safe as Milk' for sure
Blues the music playing here
Tears a way of life
Empty bed and bottles too
All but daily fare
Blues the music playing here
Sorrow, my dear friend
Gravel voice and bottleneck
My broken heart does bleed
Blues the music playing here
My heart is pierced anew
Gimme dat harp boy
Here dem notes a' blow
Blues the music playing here
Blues is what you feel
Jeremy plays some Elmore James
Hear that guitar weep
Blues the music playing here
Backstreet club cigarette smoke
