Captive of Insanity
Within the deep caverns of my mind I scream,
Within the yawning mouth of madness I cry,
From the prison of my thoughts,
From the chains of my desire,
To the dungeon of insanity!
Like thin tendrils of freezing fog,
Thoughts stealthily creeping in,
Gradually enveloping me,
A demon grasping out,
Cutting to my heart!
Dragging me within its arms,
Deep into darkness void,
Thus it lays a hold of me,
Silence consumes all,
Icy claws of madness!
Not a breath or sound I hear,
To reach to clasp upon,
Visions flitter through minds eye,
Conjuring pictures there,
I laugh, I cry, I scream, I weep!
Thoughts but vapors - subconsciously,
Existing without time,
Trapped within the inner caves,
Mazes of the damned,
Chains of vapours, walls of mist!
Creaking boards of old oak wood,
Scurrying feet in empty halls,
Dancing dreams from caverns deep,
Evils sounds in mazes dark,
Groanings from the mind!
Words do twist my life I see,
Music drowns in deafening waves,
Drums do summon death to life,
Spirits waging war,
Ghosts of thoughts long past!
Opening words that I may know,
Removing scales illusions cloak,
Visions in the night I see,
Whispers nudge and lead me on,
Thoughts in pages hid!
Things below do crawl and squirm,
Ravens fly to realms on high,
Visions veiled in darkness looms,
Cursed by selfish ways,
Understanding cryptic rhymes!
Tongues of fire words of ice,
Pain and suffering in their wake,
Erupting clouds of silver tears,
Weeping follows them,
Torments float through the air!
Sightless eyes in empty heads,
Ears that hear no pain, no woe,
Tongues that move but never speak,
Empty shells they be,
Woe to shallow flesh!
Mannequins that wander fro,
Lost in dreams that never end,
Singing songs of froth and filth,
Corrupting minds and souls,
Beware the voice within!
Spawn of darkness now they be,
Living shadows wisps of air,
Like a mist they tainted all,
Darkness claims the soul,
Yet confusion still remains!
I sit alone within the room,
I sip this poisoned cup,
Lost to all I'd hoped to be,
A captive of my fears,
Wisdom fled from me!
Beneath deceitfulness of friends,
Jaws of glittering wealth abound,
Deluded thoughts do spring to life,
Lovers bound in silver chains,
Imprisoned in madness!
