Forever Wrought in Time
The future remains unclear, the past carved in stone,
The present still unfurling, the wheel of time moves on.
Doubts may come like thundering waves you're caught up in their swirl,
Thrown and tossed about you are, a cork within the sea.
The choice to cross a road or not; or perhaps to stay at home,
A choice to board that busy bus, or maybe walk on by,
To choose to sit in sunny café and dink espresso brew,
Rather than the busy streets of shoppers bustling by,
Each choice propels you forward, strange how the mind it works.
Your future now forever changed, events now writ in stone.
All life is like a tight rope, a breeze can cause a fall.
One touch, one kiss that opens wide or closes fast the door.
That word so kind or harsh can change your future plans.
Blind we are, blind weavers, creating a tapestry of life,
A picture we do not yet see, yet nonetheless we weave it.
Things we did or left undone, times we slept instead of woke,
Times we partied up till late, all a thread within.
A smile was given or withheld, a moment wasted, a day now lost,
Oh the tapestry we weave, yet blind to all we do.
Then one day when time is still, we look upon its picture clear,
The essence of our life unveiled, forever wrought in time!
