Mystical Intricacies of the Mind
Mystical intricacies of the mind
Playing illusionary tricks within
Doubting and fearing, yearning and loathing
All dark corners fuse
Slithering creatures of darkness abide
Deep in their dark endless holes
Mazes of tunnels winding within
Never to end does it seem
Dark looming spectres laugh and they spin
Webs of foul poisonous thread
Sniggering giggling laughing they be
Watching their poor victim squirm
Beneath seeming smiles, dark eyes do devour
Catching the thoughts that come in
Glittering fame and pride and desire
All bait to the entrance therein
Music and noise, sights to confound
All to block thoughts of pure love
Pleasures abound and self is the king
Lustful desires rule all things
Wealth is the goal, power and fame
Lusts of the flesh ply their ware
As flies to the ointment so men snare themselves
Not seeing the final result
Be not deceived by illusion I say
These things that do seem may not be
Tis only one life in a breath it is gone
Our actions live on after us
