Prisoners of Death
Hollow eyes glazed with drugs
Smiles like frozen death
Skin its pallor pale as ice
Hair a matted rope
Minds that wander depths beneath
Dark and misty caves
Lost to shadows - living dead
Chained and left to rot
Vision dark they come and go
Everything a blur
Kaleidoscopic dreams I see
Worlds I know not whence
Pain it racks my body now
I need another fix
What I’ll do I do not care
I only live for this
Everyone’s abandoned me
No one really cares
I screwed them all to feed my need
I am now all alone
People use me just as well
My morals dead and gone
Hope has died and love as well
My cravings all I have
If hope has gone then what remains
As screams fill the air
Death is welcome to these ones
Captives snared in hell
Who can know what they go through?
Who can understand?
Who can set them free? I ask
Who can walk their path?
Who can give them hope? I cry
Who can break the chains?
One who walks with them!
Only one who loves!
