A poem of Faith

The Guide
I fall beneath the dark storm clouds
No hope in sight for me
The winds of trails have caught me up
They threw me to the ground
In dirt and mud I lie so still
My blood seeps in the ground
Discouragement and doubt do spring
From out the muddy ground
I linger there too weak to move
The weeds do choke me now
I gasp for breath I barely live
My heart is crushed so sore
Yet through it all I see a light
A ray of hope remains
The Lord will guide my steps aright
The Lord will take my hand
He lifts me up and sets me right
He whispers in my ear
He points the way and leads me there
He cleans my festered wounds
Step by step I walk through life
His wonders I do see
The trials come the trials go
His word remains with me
Some days are filled with joy it seems
I sing His praises loud
Yet others bring the clouds so dark
As sorrow comes to me
Yet clouds will pass the sun will shine
The way will clearer be
So through the paths of life I tread
The Lord He lights my way
