The Phoenix Rises
Mythology we all do love
Of legends never tire
Symbols of real truths to some
To others just to read
From the pages of the prophets
To ancient books in Rome
The Phoenix lived it dies to live
Its song we love to hear
Persia reveals the bird to us
In words records it well
From India's large nation
Unto Egypt's beating heart
From the blue shores of Lebanon
To the Orient so fair
The Phoenix flies aloft once more
The Phoenix is reborn
Its beauty magnetises all
Its gold and scarlet plumes
Reborn anew to sing once more
From death consumed in flames
From suffering comes the joy of life
Immortality is its breath
From ashes of defeat it climbs
From dark night unto light
To some a bird of hope it is
A nation to emerge
Through suffering to rise above
To sing a victor's song
One thousand years it lives we read
Its time to be reborn
In Palestine we see its light
Upon the olive hills
In suffering comes a ray of hope
From ashes build again
In death new life will spring once more
Our faith doth give us hope
The Phoenix flies up in the air
Its' golden light so bright
Just like the sun it shines intense
Its rays upon the land
The Phoenix's song an angel's one
So beautiful it sings
Its nest is built with frankincense
With myrrh and other spice
From death it springs, new life is given
Resurrected yet again
A beaconto the world it is
New hope it brings with it
Like Christ who came and died in pain
Fromashes not defeat
Yet rose again to shine his light
To bring life unto all
And so we hear the Phoenix' song
Across the world so wide
All cultures, nations, faiths as well
Embrace the Phoenix bird
