The sirens who tempt and lure but to destroy

The Sirens

Sirens sing their songs so sweet
Tempting notes to draw all near
Harpies waiting for the kill
Snaring fools in pleasures vain

Beauteous forms seducing men
Hypnotic eyes bewitch and tease
Riches glittering, enticing snare
Webs of pretty poison thread

Power and fame alluring treats
Attracting men like glistening web
Deadly is the unseen force
Like the spider waiting near

Life’s a dangerous road my son
Hidden threats along the way
Flattering tongues to draw thee in
Turn to venomous lethal fangs

Compromise is born of lust
Pride and self do dim all truth
Worldly froth like thin veneer
Cover sharpened claws

Into unseen mazes come
Snaring self in silvery webs
Unaware of dangers there
Trapped within delusions snare

The dark and evil predators
Stalk the streets in shadows dim
Murky alleys hiding death
Beware oh fool what waits for thee
