THE MAGIC GARDEN
Codex I
Putting down his empty hot chocolate cup,
Jimmy smiled, his eyes agleam,
His grandpa waiting in his magic rocking chair,
In his hands the 'Book of Secrets'.
Together sitting by the fire.
Rocking chair and burning logs,
Jimmy waited bated breath,
As grandpa now began,
Within the pages of the book,
A land appeared and came to life.
A time before time ever was,
A land of fantasy!
Across the Rainbow Sea,
Deep in the Crystal Land,
Towered high a golden Pyramid,
A citadel of Light!
Upon a pleasant rich green hill,
It loomed a beacon bright.
No war or hate, no pain or death,
Only love held sway.
From there a great magician ruled,
In wisdom and in power,
His throne pulsating liquid gold,
Yet solid when he sat!
A ring of magic keys he held,
A sword of blue white steel,
A horse with wings to carry him,
A seeing crystal eye!
This lord of Light, magician white,
Protected one and all.
He wished for all to live in love,
To enjoy life's sweet gift,
Outside the walls a garden grew,
Such beauty none could fathom.
The magician lord created it,
A place for all to come!
Adonis, Alliums, perfumes bliss,
Amaryllis, Angelicas, Asters too!
Blue bells, carnations, chrysanthemum grew,
Crocus, daffodils, daisies pure!
Jasmines, lavender, ah such scent,
Gardenia, honeysuckle, hyacinths sprout,
Orchids, primroses, roses red,
Violets, lilacs and pink zinnia!
Each flower created by love's spell,
Throughout his garden spread,
Endowing blessings in each heart,
A land of love and joy!
Patience, Humility, Unity,
Inspiration, Love and Beauty true,
Constancy, Contentment, Gratitude,
Appreciation, Sweetness, Innocence,
Admiration, Cheerfulness, Humor, blessed,
Optimism, Affection, Acknowledgment,
Discretion, Desire, Enthusiasm,
Passion, Faithfulness, Steadfastness,
These virtues, in all hearts did thrive,
Like pollen in the air!
Everyone for others cared,
No evil ever thought.
Sparkling ponds with birds to sing,
Benches placed to rest and read,
Musicians played and bards did speak,
Old men mused and children played.
Days of heaven there for all,
A land where love and joy prevailed,
Nowhere hate or malice, strife,
A land where evil held no sway!
A dome of light surrounds the land.
Protecting it from darkness grasp.
No evil thing could enter,
Unless invited in!
