The Violin is Born
‘Twas in a ray of Lovelight’s sheen
This instrument was born
Designed to conquer hearts with love
And vanquish all the dark
The Lord of Love looked down at man
He saw the need so great
He made an instrument to stir
Man’s love and passions sore
And so the violin was born that day
An instrument of love
Its music sweet and fair to hear
It crossed the sands of time
Aromatic pine to fill the senses
Sycamore and ebony too
With catgut, steel, that vibrates love
A broken heart imbibed
It brought to man a piece of love
It filled man’s heart with joy
The heart of heaven’s music sweet
Did melt all hate away
For all that heard, did bow before
They gave love praise in song
For all that love had done for man
Through sounds that vibrate love
A brave young youth was given it
His heart enjoined with passions light
His fingers leapt and danced with fire
His heart erupted with ardent love
These sounds of passion filled all lands
Then men did understand
As love’s sweet perfumes healed their hearts
Of all their inner fears
So, hold it high and give love praise
O’ you of mortal man
For love did give this gift to man
To glorify love’s power
