The Ballad of Darkness
Tonight, I'll sleep with doors and windows open
So I may hear the stars singing
The ballad of darkness.
And I'll gaze at the frost bitten moon
Turning golden like a splendid outcast
Humming and whistling a wistful tune.
Perhaps I'll go out on that lazing asphalt road too
And stain Its rolling ribs with one moving shadow.
Gracefully undulating like a lyricist's dream,
Have you heard this road ends on the edge of the midnight!
Where comets and meteors flit like insane glowing gnats
Singing amorous sopranos, flaring up the heart of skies..
Have you heard? Have you... Have you...
