As I lay here.

This may be confusing to people who read this but I can ensure you there is a story to this...a very long one at that!

As I lay here,
In these filthy cloths, they call clothes
Feeling utterly exposed and simply scared
You came over to me
Showing what seemed to just be sincere pity.

Maybe you knew that was something
I haven't seen for quite a while, but
Knowing myself like I do,
I know if this was any other situation
I'd have clearly shown you where to go,
Probably to Tim Buck Too?

As I lay here
Feeling utterly paralyzed by those deep red deadly eyes,
I can't help but feel the need to cry, because
I was deeply confused when
You held out your hand to me,
Showing me what seemed to be sincere pity, yet
Letting me know I had someone to fall back on.

Yes, this was something,
I hadn't seen for quite a while, but

Knowing you, like I do
I know if this was any other situation
I'd have gladly wrapped my arms tightly around you
Just like I use to, but

As I lay here
I see everything is so clear
About my past with you and
Even though we can't go back
I'll still lay here
Waiting patiently for you
To put my pieces together into
Someone new.
