 A WAVE GOOD BYE

MY OWN REALITY OF THE TSUNAMI .
WAS ONLY THROUGH NEWS AND CLIPS ON T.V.
I KNEW IT HAD HAPPENEDTHAT'S WHY I WAS HERE .
TO PLAY MY PART AND BE A VOLUNTEER .
I FIRST SAW A LANDSCAPE OF EMPTY AND DECIMATED RESORTS .
I LISTENED TO SURVIVORS STORIES AND HEARD OTHERS THOUGHTS .
I STEPPED OVER BELONGINGS LEFT IN THE SAND.
IT LOOKED LIKE RUBBISH ,I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND.
I ENTERTAINED CHILDREN WHO'S PARENTS HAD DIED ,
THEIR HAPPY FACE'S GRADUALLY EXPOSING MY LIES.
BECAUSE I WAS NEVER THERE,I WAS JUST PRETENDING I KNEW .
I COULD MARVEL AT SHIPWRECKS STILL LEFT IN VIEW .
I SAW SHELL MEMORIALS WITH FLOWERS AND CORALS .
I SAW PICTURES AND POEM'S OF LEFT LOVED ONES SORROWS.
I WALKED ON BY AFTER PAYING MY RESPECT.
THE DESTRUCTION AND GRIEF NOT REALLY HAVING AN EFFECT.
UNTIL ONE DAY , TO THE BEACH I STROLLED,
ACROSS A BUILDING SITE FOR NEW BUNGALOWS .
ON THE WIND I HEARD A CHILD LAUGH,
AND THERE PINNED TO A TREE TWO NEW PHOTOGRAPHS .
BOTH OF GIRLS ,ONE 9 THE OTHER 3
THEIR EYES FULL OF HOPE THEIR SMILES FULL OF DREAMS .
THE IMAGES WERE STILL , BUT AS ALIVE AS YOU AND ME .
MY HEART SUDDENLY REALIZED, TEARS POURED FROM MY EYES .
I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD HOW THE WAVE SAYS GOODBYE
WAVE GOODBYE CHILDREN, WAVE GOODBYE .
WAVE GOODBYE LOVERS OLD AND NEW .
WAVE GOODBYE ALL YOU SINGLES WHO SEEK A TRUTH .
WAVE GOODBYE ALL YOU ANIMALS TOO .
AS I WAVED TO THE WAVES , MY EYES AS SALTY AS THE SEA .
I LOOKED UP TOWARDS THE HEAVENS TO TRY AND FIND SOME INNER PEACE.
AND THERE IN THE CLOUDS AS CLEAR AS THE DAY,
I SAW THOUSANDS OF HANDS WAVING. NO GOODBYES ..WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN .
I RETURNED TO THE TREE WITH THE PICTURES
TO THANKED WITH ALL MY SOUL ,THOSE THAT HAD LEFT THEM THERE,
FOR KEEPING IT REAL AND FOR MAKING ONE HUMAN BEING MORE AWARE.
