The courtship of the rain...

Poetry By: Henry Duthler

Laying alone on the wrong side of the pane...
all that separates is shards of glass and the rain...

The Courtship of the Rain

By Henry Duthler

Tiny little specks,

sliding down the glass,

rain drops dancing across the pane

Touching, weaving, swaying

It's the courtship of the rain

The subtle rush of wind

That rises without warning

The Air that calls for change

Pressing, prodding, and pushing

It's courtship with the rain

The silent witness

Within covers held tight

Warm within the sheets again

Resting, asleep and dreaming,

Of the courtship of the rain...
