Nothing Has Happened

Poetry By: High School Poet

If the title is any indication, this is a poem or about nothing. Or maybe something? I'm not sure, sometimes I have trouble deciphering my own crazy mind =P. Anyway, I thought I'd share it with you guys and I appreciate any feedback/advice you can give me! Enjoy!

Nothing Has Happened

Silence in the noise of the night

Owls screeching the jingles of fright

Mice scamper along daisies in delight

Now God whispers, he puts his hands to my ear

Says, "You know, I never planned for this to happen"

I reply, "Don't worry sir, nothing has happened"

Silence in the fury of the fight

Soldiers scribbling in their coloring books,

Instead of waiting for the light

But then the bombs explode with crisp anger

And now where's that poker face?

Lotion on my legs, lets me sprint so much smoother

Friction between thighs, ha, you're such a dirty thinker

But these thoughts you consume, madness eating genius

Did you ever stop to consider that,

Well, nothing has happened

I'm the type of person who would challenge death to a game of checkers

And if I'd lose that I'd say let's play poker,

Cause unlike the soldiers of misfortune,

I've got a face like a cracker jacks box prize

Even in war, you cannot flush these eyes

Now the Devil murmurs, he puts his hands to my ear

Chuckles, "You know, I never planned for this to happen"

I reply, "Don't worry sir, nothing has happened"

You've reached the end of this poem, your hankering for a catharsis

Your mind is hurt that it's not more frank and this puzzle is unfathomed

Misshapen is your poker face,

It's taken you until now to realize that nothing really has happened
