Your face imprinted
Blatantly in my mind
the way it used to be,
laughing like innocent babe.
But, that face has gone now
it's bleak and gaunt
the only thing now there
is sorrow blaring like a death march.
I remember, though,
the loving look
that used to brighten
with a delirious joy.
The years have hardened you
made your heart cold and dead
the ghost in your eyes
haunting and sad.
I still love you, though,
because I know
you're tortured face is worn
by a falling angel.
