A dusty box of old photographs brings back the past

AMIDST THE DEBRIS OF TIME

In a dusty box I found you

You smiled and met my eye

But you were just a faded picture

Amidst the debris of time.

A time long past when love was strong

We vowed we'd never part

But promises were broken

You left and broke my heart.

And now with your face before me

A relic of the past

I know you've gone forever

Young love that didn't last.

One last time I kiss your lips

We meet each others eye

Then I return you to that dusty box

Amidst the debris of time.
