Remembering childhood happiness

Oh! how we laughed with all our friends

In those day so long ago

When we were only children

And were thrilled by the falling snow.

Our voices rang with laughter

We had no time for care

If there was sadness round about us

We could not feel it there.

We had time for only happiness

No time for woe or tears

We had people there who loved us

And to calm our little fears.

As as today, I reminisce

And the gale force winds do blow

I wish we still were children

In those days so long ago.
