THE LOVE THAT DIED

Reflecting back to days long past,

Remembering how it used to be

When love was young and innocent

Days of pleasure, no discontent,

I remember back to you and me.

Days when the sun always seemed to shine,

Every rainbow held a pot of gold

Our love was warm bringing nothing but pleasure

I thought it was ours, always to treasure

I never dreamed your heart would grow cold.

When you said, that day, it was her not me,

When you spoke words of love, to me, you had lied

As you walked away I felt so deceived

And like the Autumn leaves

My heart slowly died.
