Small towns and fairy tales are all I’ve ever known,
An dreams of places only my mind has ever flown.
The same people and routines are just not meant for me,
There’s so much world out there that I just have to see.
I’ll break the chains that this place has bound me too,
An flee to all the places that are shiny and so new.
Skyscrapers and buildings that reach for the sky,
Seem irresistible to me I just cannot lie.
An the pull of the ocean calls out oh so strong,
I know there’s somewhere out there that I do belong.
It’s all my friends and loved ones that I wont forget,
But this is my last hope and a chance I wont regret.
An this place I’ll remember it’s where I have come from,
No matter to which places I have ever gone.
An I wont fall it’s true if I don’t have your hand,
As on my own two feet I have learned to stand.
I’m older and much wiser and need to find me,
It’s such a big world and there’s so much to see.
Don’t cry or worry I’ll be just fine,
I have to satisfy these wandering feet of mine.
Watch me spread my wings and fly ever so high,
Breaking free of my old self and reaching for the sky.
