Carpe Diem - Seize the Day

Poetry By: Howlingwolf214

Basically, the message is: be true to yourself. Be what you want to be. You only have so many seconds on this Earth, don't waste them.

This was inspired by Philosophical thinking and, partly, the film Dead Poets Society (which I suggest you watch) which features the line "Carpe Diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary."
It's also influenced by my studies of Romantic poetry, hence the links to nature. Enjoy!

Comments are appreciated. :)

Oh, listen now,
Dear Friends, do.
For every fragile petal
Of a crimson Rose
Is destined to wither.
The mighty Oak tree,
With each swaying bough,
Doomed always to fall.
The light of every star,
That pierces the heavens,
Will one day shine its last.
The clock that ticks so fervently,
One minute after the next,
May tick no more.
With a hand upon your chest,
Do not count the beats gone by.
But those not yet spoken.
Do not stand by idle,
Open not your eyes,
But your mind.
Seize the day.
For it will not wait long.
Carpe Diem.
Do not let your petals fall
Without once catching the sunlight.
