Sometimes I feel as if every day is Halloween,
Everyone shrouds themselves, not letting their faces be seen,
Their masks may conceal their ugliest sides,
But also their extraordinary beauty the masks hide,
For nothing beautiful can come for free,
What reason? That is only a whispered mystery,
Are people simply trying to be the epitome of what is right?
But why must the price be hiding out of sight?
Why must chivalry be the cost,
Of something genius lost?
Don’t get me wrong, there are those different from the rest,
They aren’t always the prettiest, the smartest or the best,
They are the ones with the swing in their hips,
The ones with the true smiles on their lips,
The ones that watch as the azure sky turns to night,
And wait patiently until their silhouette leaves their sight.
