As I draw the sharpened blade across my skin,
Trying to release the daemon from within
I look deep within my darkened soul,
And see nothing but a blackened hole.
You once held pride of place within my heart,
But after you were taken it just refused you start.
I loved you for only the briefest moment in time,
But instantly knew you would be forever mine.
Then fate came and played its unholy hand
And against it, not even God could make a stand.
Your smile is still etched deep within my eyes,
And grants me solace from all the daemons lies.
The night we sat as one in each other’s arm entwined
Still makes me smile and cry when released from my mind.
To think of you now leaves me tattered and torn
As I remember back to our final Twilight Dawn!
