I dig myself a shallow grave
Trying to get through another day
Isn't it time to face the truth?
You would think I'd be used to this feeling by now
I'd have built a tolerance
But I haven't
I haven't adopted a new belief
I cannot seek my own relief
Because I've failed
At life
At love

I dig myself a shallow grave
Full of self mutilation and inwardly-directed criticsism
As you speak so freely, so easily
my grip on reality slips; defenses paper thin
But I cling
I never stray from my pre selected path
I never awaken from this deathly sleep
Because I've failed
At life
At love

Thank you very much. ^-^

Critically speaking, it was a very good poem. The feeling, the emotion, the flow, imagery, word choice, cadence, all very well done.
