The original poem was called 'workings of the wind' by James Berry. At school we were writing our own version of it using a differant weather. I choose rain because that is my favourite weather. I hope you like it. :D

Workings of the rain

Rain doesn't always drench clothes,

And create puddles.

Rain beautifully,

makes rainbows and

created roses and tulips to grow

as high as a tree.

Rain doesn't always flood houses,

And stop you travelling.

Rain glistens

On rivers and lakes

Making them shimmer…

like little diamonds.

Rain doesn't always make sand soggy

And stop you building sand castles.

Rain unfortunately,

Wipes the smiles of children's faces

Because they can't play

their favourite game
