Fire cannot burn me,
And ice cannot freeze me,
And the greatest of rivers,
Cannot sweep me away.
Heaven cannot hold me,
And Hell cannot hurt me,
And the greatest of gods
Cannot send me away.
The devil fears me,
And the clouds part before me,
And men will rue the day
They let me in their hearts stay.
Death comes before me,
And life does not follow me,
And I hold in my palm
The sun’s bright warm rays.
The Earth does not bind me,
And the wind does not hurry me,
And the tears of the sky
Never on my head stay.
All humans dread me,
All creatures cower before me,
And yet where I am
They cannot say.
For I am Emptiness,
And this is how I play.
