He finally made it to the apple tree.

Without being seen he had reached there.

Sitting up there where no one could see;

He stole the fruits in presence of the air.

'Don't steal the apples'' the air was shouting.

But he won't listen, apples he would steal.

The bag was full, he had done the looting.

Hearing some noise insecure he did feel.

Turning back he saw a snake's face.

He fell down with the stolen fruits.

He was seen and he fell from grace.

He was like a tree shaken from its roots.

He saw a spider coming to bite his hand.

Picking up a stone he cut it in two.

It happened so fast he didn't understand.

The snake hissed angrily 'bad one, you'

He stood up and ran as fast as he could.

The snake slithered after him to kill.

Stealing the fruits had done him no good.

He was panting as he reached the hill.

Picking up a stone he turned towards the snake.

It was hissing angrily 'I will kill you'

Running won't do, risk he must take.

Down went the stone and cut it in two.
